Model 310C FIBRILLATOR
The Model 310C FIBRILLATOR is used to induce myocardial and atrial fibrillation. It offers the following advantages over any other unit:
-
A sealed zero maintenance unit
-
No battery replacement- ever
-
A unique 85 hertz operating frequency more conducive to fibrillate as compared to line operated units
-
Indicator light shows actual electrical load
-
18 volt peak to peak output provides a power reserve
-
Automatic shut-off circuit that activates after 30 minutes in the "ON" position to conserve batteries
-
Simple operation- no line cords, no shock hazard, no dials to set
-
Recessed terminals means no broken terminals if unit is accidentally dropped
The 310C unit is equipped with a simple three position switch which selects OFF, FULL POWER, or LOW POWER. To conserve battery power, the unit has a an automatic shut-off circuit that activates after thirty (30) minutes in the ON position. To date, our sealed battery operated units have been in use for over 8 years without a single battery failure. Battery operation eliminates a cumbersome line cord and the potential shock hazard that a line unit may present.
The unit has two protected, recessed connecting terminals which allow trouble free connections for all of our electrode pad and cable models. The indicator light shows the actual fibrillation power output rather than simply the battery condition. The indicator light may dim or go out completely during use when a load is applied, this is a NORMAL occurrence and does not indicate a fibrillator malfunction; instead it shows this to be an actual electrical load. The fibrillator is usually not used in the sterile field.
LIMITED WARRANTY - The Model 310C is warranted by Peter Schiff Enterprises to be free of defects in workmanship and materials for a period of one year from date of original user purchase. The warranty is limited to replacement and does not cover damages caused by misuse or mishandling.
Since the unit is completely sealed, repair and parts manuals are unnecessary.
Electrode Pads 305 (adult, left) and 306 (pediatric, right)
(Used to fibrillate or pace)
ELECTRODE PADS
MODEL 305L ADULT ELECTRODE PADS - Cable has standard female connectors for 0.080 diameter pins on one end and a silicone pad with embedded polished stainless steel electrode buttons on the opposing end. For pacing use (irrelevant for fibrillation use), each cable unit has the positive (+) wire clearly marked in RED. Cable length for the 305L is 10 feet. The silicone pad is approximately 4 inches in length and approximately 1.75 inches wide with spacing between electrode buttons of approximately 2 inches. The sterile electrode pad, after being connected to fibrillator, is placed underneath the myocardium and the heart is fibrillated at will.
MODEL 306L PEDIATRIC ELECTRODE PADS - Cable lengths and pad configuration are the same as listed for the 305’s. The only difference between the two being a smaller size silicone pad. The silicone pad for the 306L pads is approximately 3 inches in length and approximately 1.5 inches wide with a spacing between electrode buttons of approximately 1 inch. The sterile electrode pad, after being connected to the fibrillator, is placed underneath the myocardium and the heart is fibrillated at will.
USE INSTRUCTIONS FOR 305 & 306. These pads may be used with fibrillator models 31, 302, 310, 310A, 310B, 310C.
If adapter pins are required to connect the new electrodes to the older model fibrillators and are not projecting from terminal posts, unscrew caps (counter clock-wise) to expose openings on posts, insert adapter pins and tighten screw cap (clock-wise) onto pins. Once pins are in place they are to remain attached to the fibrillator.
CAUTION: When loosening post covers be very careful not to exceed limits of screw cover.
If the fibrillator is cable ready, simply attach cables to connector pins securely by pushing female socket ends over pins. The longer cable lengths have a safety clip attached which may be clipped to the OR drapes for convenience. The sterile cable unit is ready for use once it is connected to the fibrillator and placed beneath the myocardium.
NOTICE: See sterilization methods and warnings for pads and cables. These Electrode pads (305 & 306) are designed and intended for SINGLE USE ONLY!
REUSE OF ELECTRODE PADS AFTER CONTACT WITH BODY FLUIDS IS NOT RECOMMENDED
Cables & Connectors
A.I.C.D. CABLES are used in conjunction with the implantation of Automatic Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators, or for pacing.
MODEL 307L A.I.C.D. CABLES - Model 307L has a cable length of 10 feet. The cables have standard female pin connectors on one end and "alligator" clips on the opposing end. Positive (+) pacing wire is marked with Red connector on one end and RED alligator clip on opposing end.
ADAPTER PIN MODEL 402 - This pin is used on connector posts of older model fibrillators that have not been modified to accept the FDA mandated female connectors. Refer back to section on USE OF MODEL 305 & 306 with older model fibrillators. Pins should be changed on the older model fibrillators only if damaged.
ONCE ADAPTER PINS HAVE BEEN ATTACHED TO FIBRILLATOR THEY SHOULD REMAIN IN POSITION AND NOT BE REMOVED.
STERILIZATION OF PADS & CABLES
The electrode pads and cables may be ETO* gas sterilized, steam autoclaved**, Gamma Irradiated or sterilized with the newer liquid sterilant concentrates. Exposure times and parameters verified by your sterilization equipment.
*Pads and cables must be properly aerated.
**Heat may cause electrode separation from silicone pad. PLEASE examine pad/cable very carefully for electrode separation and if separated, however slightly, is detected, DISCARD IMMEDIATELY!
